Commercial Component #8 - Boiler/Machine Policy, Bonds & Excess/Surplus Lines

This course is geared towards those people who have a good understanding of the Commercial Lines products and now want further information on Boiler/Machine, Bonds and Excess/Surplus Lines.

This course is part of a certificate program called the Ten Components to Commercial Competence. Each course can certainly be taken as a standalone class, but if you are interested in seeing the full series, the courses involved and earning the certification, that information can be found HERE.

  • What BM offers over the CP or BOP policies
  • What type of equipment it covers
  • What loss situations it covers
  • Whose property is covered
  • The purpose and different types of bonds – Insurance vs. Suretyship
  • What the underwriter looks for in a "bond" insured
  • The ins & outs of Excess and Surplus Lines market and the agent's role and responsibilities.

CLASS TIME:  9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
EXAM*:  4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
CEUs: 7

* The exam is optional, but you must take it and pass in order to receive the certification. CEUs do not require an exam.
