Commercial Component #7 - D&O Professional Liability Exposures

This course is geared towards those people who have a good understanding of the Commercial Lines products and now want further information on D&O, Professional Liability and Commercial Umbrella.

This course is part of a certificate program called the Ten Components to Commercial Competence. Each course can certainly be taken as a standalone class, but if you are interested in seeing the full series, the courses involved and earning the certification, that information can be found HERE.


  • Individuals' duties and defenses in the D&O policy
  • What this policy intends and does not intend to cover
  • Discussion on the importance of the application process, warranty statement, and professional liability issues (E&O policy and malpractice policy included)
  • Discussion on the difference between a Commercial Umbrella and an Excess Liability policy
  • Differentiate between "standalone" and "follow form" policies? We'll analyze exclusions, conditions, and the "concurrency of policy dates" issue.

CLASS TIME:  9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
EXAM*:  4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
CEUs: 7

* The exam is optional, but you must take it and pass in order to receive the certification. CEUs do not require an exam.
