It’s Official: Insurance Licenses ARE Extended

Posted by MAIA on March 24, 2020

If your MA insurance license in good standing has expired or will expire during the COVID-19 state of emergency, it will remain valid until 90 days following the termination of the state of emergency. After receiving conflicting reports (and issuing a “Correction” earlier this week that turned out to be unnecessary), MAIA got the answer in an Executive Order from Governor Baker.

According to the Order, license extensions apply to:

“Any occupational or professional license, certificate, or registration issued by a state agency or any board of registration or division with licensing authority within a state agency to an individual person….”
