Registry News: Magnetic Signs Are Acceptable on Commercial Vehicles

MAIA has had several inquiries from our members about the changes to Massachusetts Markings Regulation 540 CMR 2.22 and the requirement that commercial vehicles have the owner’s name marked on both sides “in permanent letters.”  Many wondered how the new marking regulations will affect leased vehicles.

We reached out to the Registry’s Legal Department for clarification, and they confirmed that vehicle owners or lessees who are subject to the new marking regulation can use magnetic signs on the vehicle as long as the lettering is permanent.
