Extension on 7 Day Law

This question was answered based upon current rules, regulations & statutes in effect on May 12, 2020

We were wondering whether the police and the registry are enforcing the 7 day plate registration transfer law. Dealers that aren't on the drive program are having a very difficult time getting appointments for their transfers. It's unlikely any of them will get done within 7 days.
    Thank you

Kathy Cormier: The 7 Day law has not received any extension during the crisis and it would all depend on the officer if the client is pulled over if they will impound the vehicle or not.

Dealers that are not on DRIVE can go to either Milford, Wilmington and for this week Springfield to the B2B with no appointment needed.  On May 18th. the Springfield B2B will stop taking agents/dealers/runner and the Chicopee branch will be open for agents/runners/dealers with no appointments...these are drop off locations and the general public will be turned away.

    I hope this helps.
