The Seven Steps to Personal Lines Success is a well-rounded series of STEP classes designed to enhance every agent's knowledge and understanding of personal lines insurance products. Participants earn the 7 Steps Certification by attending each of the seven classes.

CLASS TIME:  9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
EXAM*:  4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

* The exam is optional. You will receive the CEUs without taking the exam. However, you must take and pass the exam if you want to receive the certificate. 

Step #1 - Homeowners Policy

When was the last time you really read the homeowners (HO) policy? We’ll do a complete overview of the HO policy, including all of the changes that have come down through ALL of the edition dates. Everyone should start on a level playing field. This may be your "Intro" course to the HO policy or a great "refresher" one.

Step #3 - Miscellaneous Property Coverage

Take an in-depth look at the Condominium Policy, Dwelling Fire Policy and Inland Marine coverages.

Step #5 - Issues & Problems In The Homeowners Policy

Three more great topics:

- Understanding the "ordinance or law" exclusion, E&O problems for agents and how to provide coverage

- How to suggest the new ISO "Additional Limits of Insurance" endorsement which provides the answer to the "guaranteed replacement cost" issue

- The "business issue" to see what’s excluded, what’s covered and available endorsements.

Step #7- Account Development Techniques/E&O Tips & Traps/Personal Lines Claims

You’ve made it to the final step! You know a lot about the coverages, but you need to learn how to round out your client’s account. We’ll show you how to avoid E&O exposures and how to implement some "fast fixes" for important E&O considerations. And finally, we’ll discuss how you can keep those hard earned clients by providing efficient and helpful claims services.

Step #2 - MA Personal Auto Policy

The Personal Auto Policy (PAP) can be the "bread and butter" for many agencies! Gain a solid understanding of the coverages provided under this widely sold policy. Whether you’re an "old pro" at personal auto — or not — you must complete this course to become a "Proven Personal Lines Professional".

Three great topics: Boat & Yacht Policies,
Flood and Personal Umbrella Policy.

Step #6 - Issues & Problems In MA Personal Auto Policy & Personal Lines Case Study

Come armed with questions on the Personal Auto Policy (PAP). Discussion includes:

- What "furnished for regular use" means and the "public or livery use" issue

- How to adequately cover equipment on customized vehicles

- The problems in a complex PAP. Includes a true-to-life client case-study complete with divorce, remarriage, stepchildren, company cars and business activities.
